East Yorkshire shooting ground to close

If the trustees would allow Rob Hall to take a 6 month running lease instead of a 5 year fixed lease, I doubt there would be a reason to move. This is how I heard it but stand to be corrected.

    Stippling on a stock.

I picked up an old MK38 32'' trap the other day at a price I could not walk away from however there is no chequering to the stock or forend. As it is an old gun albeit is very good condition apart from an adjustable comb raiser (a job for me to sort) but after taking the gun on a perm yesterday...

What’s up with the high rib?

Not sure you are missing anything. The high ribs were designed for trap shooting but a couple of manufacturers produced high rib sporters which started a bit of a trend, namely Caesar Guerini and beretta but I believe no advantage has been found in using a high rib for sporting so the trend...

    Mr B Hebditch

Although I never met him, I have only heard good things about him over the years. RIP

    Stock damage

I would be surprised if the gunsmith had done this, perhaps it has happened while you have been out shooting but not noticed it.

    Balance - preferences

My gun is slightly rear heavy, not much but it is there and that is what I like for both sporting and trap.

    Shotgun Cabinet Information

I would say fastening to plasterboard is a none starter and if you do have solid walls in the house somewhere, I suggest you look how practical it will be to move the cabinet. Some areas are more strict than others but for me, it has to be on a solid wall.

    Left Handed over and under?

If you want to stick with an auto, look at the top of the range Beretta but if you want o/u then near to the top of your budget or second hand (not so easy for a lefty) look at Beretta 694 (s/h) or a Caesar Guerini new just in budget but a higher grade s/h. Phil

    Old guns

I owned a Remmy 3200 with 30'' trap and 25'' skeet barrels ( I think they were 25'' but not 100% sure) which a few people tried and loved, some ISU skeet shooters kept asking if I would sell to them as they loved it after borrowing it for a round and eventually I gave in and sold it as I had a...

    If you were starting again,,,,,,

I started at the age of 12, rough shooting and stayed that way until I was in my late twenties then found skeet...............game changer, buy an o/u, Laurona which I thought was the bees knees and slowly worked my way up, running a clay club then the competition world to the point that I was...

    Perazzi query .............

I totally agree regarding old Perazzi guns and bitterly regret selling my old MT6 a number of years ago. The lure of a new gun set my desire racing instead of staying with a gun that suited me very well on the sporting circuit but it was the up and coming thing to have 32'' instead of the 29...

    Perazzi query .............

You are correct, the barrels are indeed 75cm / 29 1/2'' I have reseached this gun and emailed Fabrizio at Perazzi who confirmed it is an MX8 as suggested by some of you guys. I have located the original owner, Graham Leonard, an old England OT team member who gave me a lot of information, in...

    Perazzi query .............

Email and photos sent so we will see. I think I have found the original owner, Graham Leonard who had a gun shop in Brigg, North Lincs and a member of the England OT or UT team, now tracked down on facebook so a message is on it's way to him so fingers crossed I may get all the blank spots...
