    My first (Budget) gun

Hi All,  Just to update on this. I ended up finding a used ATA SP 30" Adjustable at a reasonable price. Had it fitted by the guy that runs my local shoot and I'm getting on pretty well with it at the moment.

    My first (Budget) gun

Hi, Just to give an update. I went to go and see the gun last night and it wasn't for me. It was definitely a field gun and not a sporter as the rib was thin and tapered off and it had an auto safety on it. (This upset me a little bit as the guy selling it new it was a field gun and still...

    My first (Budget) gun

Hi Martin, you are right, but that was when I was planning on spending £500+ on a gun and anticipating it lasting me a few years. I can't foresee a lead ban in the next 12 - 24 months and I believe this will shoot standard steel, just not HP steel. Thanks Vmax, I'll be removing the auto safety...

    My first (Budget) gun

Hi All, sorry to bring this post back up. My licence has since landed on my doorstep but my budget has taken a turn for the worse. That being said, A Lanber has come up for sale privately near me really quite cheaply. It's advertised as a Sporter but I strongly believe it's a game/field gun. It...

    Adjustable Combs

Hi All, Certificate finally landed yesterday, so looking forward to laying my hands on a gun (due to budget constraints it's going to be s/h). I hear a lot about gun fit being talked about when choosing a gun, I was just wondering, does having an adjustable comb negate the need for the gun to...

    My first (Budget) gun

Thanks All for the responses. If it were to be a Winchester it'd most likely be one from the 5000 series. It'd also need to be a used ATA, though some on the used market don't seem to be more than a year or 2 old so may have some warranty left on them.

    My first (Budget) gun

Hi all,  I should be getting my licence now in the next few weeks (it's been a long wait!!) so I'll be looking to get my first gun. I'm not going in totally blind, I've done some reading around and taken some advice on board from forums and others I've spoken to at some of the shoots I've been...

    Hi Everyone - Newbie Here

Hi All, After being taken to a few shoots as a teenager, I've finally managed to get myself into the sport (20 years later). I've had a few lessons and the licence application is well underway (I've already had my interview). Just waiting on getting a gun now and attending some more shoots.
