For many years my business has provided a cylinder filling and testing service to local air gunners, we've also supplied new cylinders and filling equipment. I've also dabbled in used gun cabinets mainly for friends etc. but more recently have started to advertise them on gun trader.

Many years ago I shot Fiocchi cartridges for a while, and liked them; sadly they vanished from the UK market.

A few years ago Fiocchi who are one of the oldest manufacturers of ammunition in the world decided to open their own distribution centre in the UK. The UK operation is managed by Graham Morris, former MD of Eley. I reckon that he knows a bit about cartridges and what UK shooters want a cartridge to do.

I few months ago I decided to stop messing about and decided to do the job properly. I decided to form a new division of my company which will specialise in the supply of shotgun and rimfire ammunition. Obviously shotgun cabinets and airgun equipment feature as will the Uni Dot fibre optic sight that I've recommended for many years, now I'm importing them, there should be no excuse for missing! I'll also add a number of other products of interest to shooters.

I'm currently building the website as time allows, its live now, but a bit basic at the moment, but will get better each day or so.

Anyone who is interested in Fiocchi cartridges can see the prices on the website. If the product is highlighted in green its currently in stock. My next consignment will see the stock availability increase dramatically to around 95% of the full range. The following consignment should see the complete range in stock albeit in limited quantities.

I would appreciate feedback from members. I would like to know which Fiocchi cartridges you shoot or would shoot if you could get hold of them, and typically the quantity that you buy. I do intend to stock other brands also but want to get Fiocchi sorted before moving on.

Please visit the site, let me know what you think; stick an icon on your desktop and pay a regular visit. Its very much work in progress at the moment.

My business is open Monday to Friday 8:30 to 4:30; Saturday 9:00 to 1:00

I don't mind hanging on a bit for collection, and can deliver at sensible cost utilising the companies fleet of delivery vehicles. We have forklifts available, so there is no need to hump larger quantities.

We are right opposite the new rugby stadium, parking is not a problem, but please email to confirm stock availability and avoid any possible disapointment.

John,

Full marks for clarity and information in both your post and the layout of the cartridges spec. :)

However, already disappointed to see the FBlue advertised as only available in pigeon size 2.4mm only  :yell: , surely a huge oversight?!

I have had these on order through my suppliers for some three weeks and they tell me everyone is waiting on deliveries :yell: , looks like they're no good to me in any case as I try to get true 8's although could have lived with 7.5's. I do hope they can be had in at least one proper clay size.

Any chance you can fill a void in our market by making available a plastic wad true 8 shot shell in 24g that is not called Hull and therefore well over £200?

I'm willing to try.

To avoid any ambiguity, please state the shot size that you are looking for in mm.

I used to shoot Hull Pro Fibres, and still have some tucked away for a special occasion, but stopped shooting them following a serious accident 4 years ago which screwed me and my shooting up.

Samfour (7.5 and 6 ...28grm) and Golden Trap (7.5...24 and 28grm).

I don't bother about English sizes because all cartridge tests during international competition are only interested in the mm specified for that discipline.

Good luck in your new venture.

I would but stating 2.2mm or 2.3mm for that matter is no good when it's supposedly only available in 2.4mm!

I've had a look and can see what you mean.

I found this http://www.hallowellco.com/shot_size_chart.htm

You can see why ambiguity can creep in.

0.1mm is roughly 4 thousandths of an inch.

The problem seems to be with the availability of a 2.2 / 2.3 mm 24 gram cartridge.

If you could get them, how many would you realistically shoot in a year?

All seems ok if thats what you pay down there, We are paying £210 for Golden Trap and £180 for Official Trap and Super Sporting.

Incidently we took Golden Trap and Official Trap and did the blind Pepsi challenge with them,,,,,,you are all old enough to remember the outcome.

Me personally, probably around 4-5k 2.2mm 24g, no more. I like 28g as a rule but have wanted to shoot 24g 8's at the closer stuff for years but just can't get hold of any. Eley Superbs / VIP's are supposed to be available with this load but try getting some!

Part of my mental game is that I believe 8's are up to breaking very long birds, so I need the same size for the lesser loads as well; 7.5's won't do as I'm not prepared to loose 4 grams and suffer reduced pellet count.

They look good Darkside but being Italian doesn't that mean the 8's are actually our 7.5's? I couldn't see a reference to 2.25mm anywhere. The other thing of course is that we don't seem to have a distributer for the Clever range in Kent !

Clever 8's measure 2.25mm, Tom Young will deliver them for £20/1000 or £40/pallet I think, you could put 4-5k or more on a pallet and delivered to your door for the price of 1/2 tank of fuel..........

Morning, the Mirage 8 are a 2.3mm, but 8.5 can be specially ordered.

Nearest stockist would be Cliff Brooks Ightham, or Headley Gun Club Surrey

Come on boys......listen up ......SIZE MATTERS........

Actually come to thinks of it pink pellets would be fab!!!

Hammy have you tried the Fblack Sporting 8.5 2.2mm, 5% antimony. These are equal if not better than the Ely Superbs you use.

Not much point swapping cartridges if you can`t get the pellet size you need.

They actually do look pink and they are as hard as hell, you'll break a leatherman's pliers before you'll flatten them!!!

Yes I have as it happens :) , a few months ago managed to get hold of a slab and I'm sure you can find my quick review of them on here. The reason I decided against them as a regular smoke was that their price only differed from Superbs by about £8 a thou, hoping the FBlue's would fare better on that front.
