Registered shoots. The right recipe.

I know that some are particularly well situated for mass accessibility, such as Weston Wood.
Target difficulty is very hard to judge from asking people, because there are a range of opinions, mainly divided between the very experienced and the newer shots. Also, I think many won't say what they think, for ego reasons / bravado.
So, assuming the target balance is 'right', what takes us to a registered shoot, or would make us skip one?
Hornet is on this weekend for example. What will be the impetus to take us there and what would be changed to make it a clear decision to go?

I dont mind driving an hour and a half or so, but if I do I want it to be worth the drive. Not the same targets as per the last few shoots just tweaked a bit, £75 hg, targets which make me want to cut my eyes out with boredom, or turning up after the last shoot to be told "we gave you your money already".
There are several grounds around which tick some of these boxes and I just dont go back. Simples.

With Ed on this one, plus good cake is always a bonus, the 3 lovatt grounds, wylye, 4 C's, newbold and grange farm (although only been there once) hit all the right notes for me. Some cake is better than others but the targets and refs on the whole are pretty good
So Hornet falls short for you?

Never been a big fan of hornet and I'm not really sure why. It's not like I've had big problems there or its a bogey ground.
See you there on Sunday then! Dispell the idea!

Only shot there three times and eveytime the people in the signing in office never seem to know what they are doing.although the shoot is not to bad.
last time shot above my average. looked at the scores for C class 80, 77, 77 leading when you look on the cpsa results 75 won it ?????
So will probably drive the extra distance to a more organised shoot and opt for Wylye

Maybe that scores thing was because they were using the old rankings? It often happens at the first shoot after a new classification period. Gets corrected at CPSA. Yes, Hornet should have had the new one, but it's not uncommon. Wouldn't write a ground off for it..

I wouldn't write the ground off,as i said its not a bad shoot just seems to be a bit disorganised in the office.
As for the scores it was 10 days after the classifications were done so they should have been using the new one buy then surely.
