Hello

I am considering purchasing a 1970,s Miroku 800 but I am concerned about maintenance as it has "V" springs and I believe it is difficult / impossible to buy them. I realise that certain gunsmiths will undertake making these from scratch but have no idea of cost involved ?

I am based in Cheshire so if anyone knows of costs or who could do it in the area the information would be gratefully received

Thanks

Hi MartynB

Thanks for that, had already seen it but when I phoned them they were closed due to bereavement, will try them again.

I know it can be done it was more the cost I was interested in

Thanks

Mark Wallin of Gunlock makers York & Wallin has a workshop at Hodnet , West Midlands Shooting Ground , he specialises in making V springs .

Thanks Salopian, I am up there at the end of March for the Cheshire Shield so will ask around.

Yes an interesting post and observations .

To bring it into perspective about leaf springs , there are scores of vintage and veteran cars about with leaf springs that have not broken over many decades of use .

" If it aint broke why try and fix it? "
