Hi all first post so please be gentle.

ive been shooting fo nearly 30 years mostly game. Over the last couple of years I’ve fallen out of love with my Silver Pigeon  largely due to the 28” barrels been too short for me (I’m 6’1 and 17 stone) and the gun just not fitting.

ive looked at a DT10, a DT11 and a B725 sporter - it’s worth mentioning at this point that I’d like to really ‘have a crack at some clays” hence the more ‘trappy’ type guns and not a EELL.

I shoot all three well and struggle in the space of a box of shells to really separate them, ive also been told to look down the Miroku, Perazzi or Kreighoff route - I’m sure my gun dealer thinks I’m taking the mikey (he’s actually given me the DT10 as a ‘courtesy gun’ while I make my mind up)

Does anyone have any way of steering me one way or the other - I know it’s all very personal and subjective and I get that - but I need to get the list down to 2 rather than 5!!

Thanks in advance!

I was convinced that I wanted the 725 pro sport, but when I tried it, I just didn’t like it. The DT10 that I tried, was second hand, and I wanted a new gun, so it was always going to lose. I tried three other guns, and then went back to the DT10. It didn’t blow me away instantly, but the more I tried it, the more I realised just how natural it felt to shoot.......so I bought it!

I have owned it for nine months now, and still admire it when I take it out of the cabinet. It suits my size 6’2, with large hands.

I haven’t shot a DT11, but have picked up a couple. They do feel familiar, but I don’t think the quality is quite the same. More than a couple of dealers have stated that the 11 isn’t an upgrade.

That said, if I had a spare £10k, I would be very tempted by the DT11 black edition. Gun porn!

Good luck with your search!

Have to say I really liked the 725 and my mind was made up on a new Black action sporter - then I tried the DT10 and the DT11 and that threw more questions than answers

I didn’t like the trigger pulls on the 725 that I tried , and just couldn’t get over it.

That, and it isn’t a DT10.!!

This is like going into a restaurant and seeing 7 things you want on the menu. There’s no right answer other than the one that makes you feel happiest. If it fits, you feel it’s right, then commit and get used to it.

Shoot a full round (or two) with each one, the one that is easiest to shoot well with and which doesn't in any way "thump" you recoil wise would be the logical choice, if you "fancy" one over the other despite it being a bird or two shy of your optimum scores then pick that providing you're not too competitive.
