Yet another licensing question

So, I'm applying for a shotgun renewal, I can see no mention on the form about getting the referee to sign your photo and the form just requests a single photo. However, the reminder letter requests you return the form and 'photographs' and the thames valley police site, says a frequent cause of failed cert requests is that the photos aren't signed by the referee. So have I just misread the form or are the instructions confusing. Either way, should I obey the form or the blurb elsewhere?

Why not phone the local Firearms Licencing office and ASK them ?

I had the same dilemma just did what the form said as it was the most update information , you have to supply a name phone nu,mber and address of a person who will vouch  for you and they will phone them up so warn them to expect a call
