Shooting Orange clays against open tree background yesterday, the sun was at 'one o'clock' to me and the clay at 'eleven o'clock',  rising up against an almost bare tree background that was quite bright. I was using  a Pilla 20 max orange, due to the bright background. I could see all of the first targets, a slightly lower quartering away down a ride in the wood, the second of the report pair was roughly the same line but rising higher into the bright sky background. I missed 2 ex 5 of these due to losing the target against the background, the remaining 3 were a bit 'pot luck', just kept going and pulled the trigger routine. Since having eye surgery and later cataract surgery, last year, I am finding that any sunlight seems to be twice as bright as it used to be. Anyone else have similar issues, or have found a solution to the problem  ?

When the day comes you can put years of experience though young eyes and you can use young eyes after many years of experience, you have to put up with what you have ! or wait for human robotic replacements.......(westley bot)

Yep. Go to a different shoot. This is poor course setting and a blatant disregard for their customers.

Jasper.

Never have a problem with the sun at THAT ground, it is always at your back. No, was having an away day !  To be fair to the ground owner it was really only the 1 stand that caused me a problem, the other guys that I was shooting with seemed to do OK.

TEN, bloody hell  !  Does that come with a free Labrador  ?  My Wife bought me one of those 'Grip-stick' things for picking up cartridges when using my auto, I was not aware that you could order them in WHITE  !

Couldn't justify buying a lense so i bought some of the aviator style glasses.

Surprisingly after a short period you get quite used to it,definition is great they just make everything look a bit Donald Trump ;)

I quite often use that sense on a dull day, its amazing sometimes how I get better clarity with a darker lense.  Almost as if it just gets rid of everything else and makes me concentrate.

I was struggling again last Sunday on a similar target, killed all 3 going straight away, missed 2 of the 3 going upward against a bare tree background, with the sun behind that. The only way I can describe it is comparing it to driving through a tree lined road,  with the sun flicking between the trees on your offside. It was simply a case of "now you see it, now you don't " syndrome. I have tried all the lenses that I possess and borrowed a purple lens (NOT Pilla), but all to no avail. Might have to seek out a 10ED, but would prefer to try it first.

If we are at the same shoot you are welcome to try it.  I have quite light sensitive eyes.
