Honesberie Shooting School is thrilled to be launching an exciting new shooting competition, to commence on ‘The Glorious Twelfth’.

The George Pragnell IWC Top Gun Challenge will provide entrants with the fantastic opportunity to win a highly coveted IWC Top Gun watch, worth £9,450. The competition is open to all shooters, although the main aim is to encourage game shooters to get their eye in as the season begins and then help them to improve their performance.

Other top prizes include: a custom made suit by Clements & Church and driving experiences from Land Rover.

The George Pragnell IWC Top Gun Challenge will run in weekly heats from 12th August 2017 until 1st February 2018, with a grand final on 9th February when the winner will walk away with a beautiful IWC Top Gun watch.

Each round will consist of shooting 76 sporting clays over nine stands followed by the George Pragnell IWC Top Gun Challenge which will consist of 12 high tower birds and 12 grouse birds.

The top two competitors from each week will qualify for the final on 9th February 2018 when they’ll have the chance to walk away with one of the exclusive prizes.

Entries will cost £75 per competitor which will include clays and cartridges and £65 if they choose to re-enter on the same day.

Rules

The challenge is based on a handicap system, as classified by the CPSA:

  • AA – 0
  • A – 5
  • B – 10
  • C – 15
Any person having never been classified in the CPSA will automatically have a 15 point handicap. Any person that has been classified in the CPSA, will be handicapped on their last classification.

All shooters will use Honesberie 21g cartridges which are available in 12ga and 20ga, with the exception of those using other calibres.

Shooters must book in advance to shoot the competition. The layout will change on a regular basis, at the discretion of Honesberie Shooting School.

The referee’s decision is final, and anyone found not abiding by the rules will be automatically disqualified.

sounds great ?

just the job that, cheers for posting ?

Shot this today and it was enjoyable with nothing hugely testing.

Managed to shoot terribly but knew that I wasn’t going to be on top form going in to it. Will be making a return visit to hopefully qualify for the shoot off in Feb!

Anyone else having a go at this? Finishes on 1st Feb.

I'm going to have another go and hopefully get qualified for the final, then have a go at the Churchill challenge.
