This is presumably Kevin Newton previously of Podimore shooting ground. When I did a web search I found a Yorkshire man of the same name convicted of murder. Better be careful of libel! I assume they are not the same, nor is this Kevin the UKIP candidate in Scotland. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes ehb102, this is the same Kevin Newton who managed podimore before moving on.....also managed southern counties for some years before closure 'and' was involved in some capacity with Dorset shooting school before that closed as well....and he's managed to do all this in less than a year so bad luck seems to follow him around !!!!!

You make your own luck, in a similar way as Kevin served the SW CPSA members whilst a Board member. (When he bothered to turn up that is).

I am told that the shooting grounds clubhouse has been filled with "religeous" migrants from Syria? and that the ground is recieving money from the government for this?

Thats the gossip.

I think they are refugees. I hear that Templecombe is offering to open the church hall for them too.

Is the Criminal returning to the scene of the crime, or is the Apple not falling far from the tree?

Kev is back and has opened Southern up for Sporting and lessons for a while as the Solar panel thing is still awaiting permission. I hope that he will put a couple of trap layouts back. Anything in Dorset will be a bonus as we have bugger all. Its been nearly a year since it shut ironic really.:D

Open from tomorrow for practice. 10 stands, 5 of 'em covered. 30p per clay.

Lessons/coaching, practice, and corporate stuff. The gentleman reckons he's good for a couple of years minimum.

This must be good news for Sportsman Gun Centre, and indeed the cafe...

We found the shotguns a bit noisy. And I seem to recall finding lead shot in the hood of my coat. ?

Myself an a couple of chums went there last week, combined with our shopping trip to Sportsman Gun Centre for a supply of their cheap, cheerful, and sometimes flammenwerfer-like Super Smokers.

Mr Newton was there, extremely friendly and helpful, explained where everything was and supplied us with a card. We pottered round for a bit, shot at some quite challenging targets, and had fun until the cold wind got to us.

The breeze made for some excellent high birds, which chased by 25 knot following winds, were absolutely belting along.

We will be back there soon...
