Shooting school with good shop in Yorkshire (or close)

I am actually off to the NEC on the 16th, and Harrogate on probably both days! Been to harrogate the last two years but this year I'm hoping my certificate will be through. The application is sealed in an envelope ready to post tomorrow.

Shooting school with good shop in Yorkshire (or close)

There is no rush, I'm only posting my certificate application today so I'm 12 weeks from being able to purchase anything. Could get a deposit on something though if its a good fit.

Shooting school with good shop in Yorkshire (or close)

I'm in Leeds so Doveridge is a couple of hours away. May be worth the trip though if it comes recommended.

Shooting school with good shop in Yorkshire (or close)

I just realised I didn't mention something... I'd like a shop with a selection of second hand guns as I'd rather spend an equivalent budget on a second hand Beretta or Browning than a new ATA or Yildiz. Not sure if this make a diference you the recommendations.

Shooting school with good shop in Yorkshire (or close)

Hi All, I will shortly be looking for my first gun having done a bit of shooting. I am looking for a clay school with shop so I can test out guns before I buy. Can anyone recommend a good one in or around Yorkshire?

    Deactivated guns

The whole point here is for me to be able to take a small group of cadets, perhaps even as few as two per night, and give them good solid instruction with plenty of practice handling the gun. If I have to arrange a third party coming in I will have to instruct 25-30 cadets at once and with one...

    Deactivated guns

I think you are overestimating the task at hand. I'm not trying to teach them mechanisms and they will not be taking them apart or cleaning them or doing anything other that shooting the real thing, the only point in the gun safety I need to teach them is removing and replacing in a slip, using...

    Deactivated guns

Nothing. There is no requirement for any CPSA qualification that you need a certificate. You don't need to own a shotgun, the military ones aren't even on civilian certificates, they are held in the armory on military paperwork. I would have one, but my other half doesn't want me to, so I don't...

    Deactivated guns

@Salopian you seem to be missing the point. Anyone can get a shotgun certificate so long as the police can't come up with a good reason not to give them one. I am a fully qualified CPSA safety officer but by choice (my partners, not mine) I don't have a certificate. When I go to ranges I may...

    Deactivated guns

I did look at these but they are a bit plastic and, well, toy like. I'd rather have something the cadets could associate with a real gun, even deactivated they are likely to treat it with more respect. I suspect a toy one would be run around with and broken in 10 minutes.

    Deactivated guns

I don't see anything like that, could you point me in the direction of one as I may be looking at the wrong thing.

    Deactivated guns

I work with the Air Cadets and want to get a deactivated gun to use as a training aid. This will allow me to go through safe gun handling techniques without requiring any special storage or shotgun certificates. I'd like to get an under-over with a single trigger to most closely approximate the...

    Hi from Leeds

Hi all, I am fairly new to this. Past experience is about 3 try out shoots. I am a volunteer with the Air Cadets and have just passed my CPSA safety officer course and plan on doing as much shooting as I can get away with. :)
