Sporting shoots. Where - and how did it go?

Three of them were nothing more than smallish shards on the headgear: like you say, wind was probably the factor in all of those. It's a great ground, and I can't fault the layout at all for my being underneath some flypaths on what seemed like quite a busy morning. As to the fourth, well I've...

Sporting shoots. Where - and how did it go?

Hot shooting in the forest at Weston Wood today. Lot of bodies about (some seriously impressive CPSA competitors, and presumably others getting some last-minute practice ahead of the Glorious Twelfth), with some demanding, challenging birds. Took hits from four clays at various points around the...

    Olympics Shooting Schedule

Women's trap here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/live/olympics/36601567 Absolutely nerve shredding stuff, but brilliant. Makes me want to shoot trap! If you go to the schedule: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/olympics/rio-2016/schedule Then drop down to shooting, and select what you like. If there's...

    Game Fair - Ragley Hall

I took the family on Saturday, and they had a great day out. The Gunmakers' Row was definitely rather lightweight in dealers compared with the last CLA show at Blenheim, but I think Tim's got a point that perhaps everyone had their eye on the unfortunate Stoneleigh event. That said, I still...

    Which Sporting gun - 2.5k - 3.4k?

Me too, standard version in lefty.

    Fiocchi - Poor quality

Really surprised. I use FBlack Sporters (fibre) a lot, and personally I really rate them: I've easily put 2k+ through my B725 without a single misfire. Maybe dumb luck for me, though.

    Choke choice solved!

There's also the 'new choke' effect: This week I switched from the standard Browning DS chokes to Mullers on my 725, and literally hit EVERYTHING this weekend. It'll never last. (oh, and Nimbusgb: congrats on the Perazzi!)

    Blaser F16

Bisondan: Ah, I was wondering about that. The American Blaser website has L/H as an option on its configurator, but you're quite right, it doesn't seem to be an option in Blighty yet. Ho hum.

    Blaser F16

I hadn't fully appreciated the importance of weight until I couldn't physically lift the gun. I broke my trigger hand back in January, and switched down to a lightweight Benelli 828U (6 1/2lbs) while it healed. It's pretty lively, and generally in a good way. Cheekbone got a bit bruised in the...

    Blaser F16

Afternoon all, has anybody on the forums had a go with the sporter version of the new Blaser F16 yet? If so, is it any good? (PS - the super slow-mo adverts on their American website are the most satisfying videos you'll watch all day: http://www.blaserf16.com/)

    fabarm

There was a bloke at my shooting club yesterday with one (the first time I've ever seen one at a ground) and he was certainly shooting well with it. It looked a lot like a Browning Cynergy. If in doubt, try one out!

    B725 Trade In Price

    Mendip Shooting Ground

I've never tried Mendip (although I have been meaning to, as my folks live just south of Weston-Super-Mare), but Brook Bank is an absolute cracker of a ground, and the Sunday shooting there is a huge bonus on a weekend away. BTW, athough I've been asked what size and wad the cartridges I'm...

Scottish Sporting at Seal's Cove, near Aberdeen

Are there good clubs on Jersey? I've got friends over there, and would be good to know next time we visit!

    problem with a new 725

My 725 feels as tight as the day I bought it, and it's had upwards of 8k cartridges through it. If it doesn't feel right, have it checked: they aren't cheap, and you're perfectly entitled to question the feel of the action.

Scottish Sporting at Seal's Cove, near Aberdeen

A bit of an unashamed plug for the shooting ground at Seal's Cove, just South of Aberdeen. There's a great shop on site (the long-established Anderson's Guns has recently relocated from the city to a dedicated shop on site), a well-equipped and welcoming lodge for events, and some of the most...

    Browning 725 palm swell

I've gotten so used to the (leftie) palm swell on my 725 that I'm finding that I need to grip other guns without palm swell a bit too hard to compensate for it. I was told when I bought it that I'd either love it or hate it, and fortunately I'm the former. I've definitely shot a hunter version...

    Muller U4 usage

I use U2 & U3 chokes in my Benelli 828U, and alternate between FBlacks and Blue Diamonds. The patterning is superb. Am planning on upgrading my 725 to the same set up when money allows. No idea what I'd use a U4 for, to be honest!

    Browning 725 reviews

I've had a 725 30" sporter since September 2014, and it's my absolute go-to for ESP. I'm a leftie, and have the left-handed version, with the palm swell: personally I like it, but I know some people who really aren't fans. All I'd say is that you should definitely try it before you buy, as it's...
