    Gun Cleaning-How Often?

Clean mine every time I use them (twice weekly). I also wipe down sith a silicone cloth afterwards and then place in cabinet with VP90 sachet to avoid rust as much as possible!

    Shooting Gloves

Bought my MacWets on Sunday and will try them out in colder weather. I have only been shooting since last November and really struggled in cold winds due to broken / arthritic fingers. In my book, any item of clothing that puts you back into a normal 'zone' has to be a good thing.

Who's where this Sunday? - 2014 (Sporting version)

Brook Bank for a few of us. Never been before so thought we would give it a go.

    Shooting car

Buy a car that you WANT and can afford to run - not just a car that fits your guns is my advice. Mine just about fits my guns & kit in, does 18 miles to the gallon but every mile is damn good fun - the way it should be IMHO.

    Shooting Gloves

Don't tend to use gloves but there is the odd occasion in winter when my arthritic fingers sting like hell. Too much of a misspent youth fighting & 20 years as a club bouncer and not a straight digit in sight. Still, the Missus loves it ;-)

    Shooting Gloves

Disappointing to hear this about MacWets as I was just about to order a pair. I heard they were the dog's danglies but so far they don't seem to be fondly regarded here.

    Insurance

Just a thought - am about to renew my home insurance and wondered if I need to declare the fact I have guns in the house and do insurers cover them 'away from home'? What do you guys do?

    Ian Coley Open Day-Saturday 13th

Popped up but just too busy to shoot so had a nose around and was slightly disappointed to be fair - just a few stands. Maybe my expectations were a little on the high side. Didn't stay long in the end - just a few mins.

Skeet noob - basic advice sought.

Interesting thread. I started last December and cut my teeth on skeet. After 6 months of it twice weekly I grew bored rigid of it and as a result don't shoot it now preferring Trap & then sporting. However, as a newcomer to the world of shooting I found the basic skills that skeet shooting...

    Express Power Blue Issue?

Thanks. Might be worth trying a few. I've been using Hull Superfast and Fiocchi FBlu up till now although the latest are the Power Reds which I won't be buying again.

    Loving DTL!

Glad to hear it. I was just advised last weekend to only shoot plastic for trap.

    Express Power Blue Issue?

Never used them and they seem a reasonable price. I take it you rate them?

    Express Power Blue Issue?

I've had this with the new Power Reds. Out of the first 200 I had 3 which were mishapen and wouldn't fit in the barrel and 3 hang fires. Not impressed which is a shame as I was getting on well with the cartridge. Back to Fiocchi for me I think.

    Loving DTL!

Thanks for the offer. Unfortunately I have arranged to meet some mates at my local ground this Sunday but would definitely be up for it another time. I am planning on trying as many grounds as possible over the next year. On a slight aside, I have heard that although many grounds are fibre...

    Loving DTL!

Thanks. I shoot in Gloucestershire and have been very guilty of mainly shooting at one small club but I do venture to Ian Coley's & one or two others from time to time.

    Loving DTL!

After 10 months of shooting skeet I got a bit bored and decided to try DTL & ABT. So, the last 6 weeks I have been watching my scores steadily climb from about 17 up to an average of 22. Until now! On Saturday I bought a Beretta 686 E sporter which also came with trap woodwork including...

    Hi from Gloucestershire

Hi, just thought I would take a mo to introduce myself. Got my licence in Nov last year and got the bug big time. I shoot twice a week at the moment with my Lanber Field which I think is doing just fine. However, the last month I have been concentrating more on DTL and have an average score of...
