I have been using Super Target T1's in 24g/7.5 for DTL, but the place I get them have run out, but have 24g/8's. Will the increase in shot counter the reduction in size and still break clays out to about 40 yds?

I've noticed that the end of my stock along the edge of the recoil pad seems to be drying out, it looks dull compared to the rest of the stock. I had the stock shortened before the pad was fitted. Should I remove the pad and oil the bare end of the stock before refitting the pad?

In Canada we seem to be limited in what shells we can get. I use Federal Top Gun as they are the cheapest by a couple of dollars a box. However I have just found a supplier who stocks Clever Mirage T1's at about the same price, and would like to get peoples view on them. Thanks

Just taken up clay shooting with my son. I had a Bettinsoli Classic Sideplate imported from Avalon Guns in the UK (great guys to deal with). Not managed a great deal of shooting yet, as we have only just come out of the freezer (-35 C two weeks ago!).
