    FBlack vs FBlu

I normally use RC2 24g 8's or Fblu 24g 7.5's to good effect at any target. However I just competed at the Island Games in Jersey and we were provided with Fblack 24g 7.5's to use. Over the course of a week I shot around 700 of them: 200 at ABT, 250 at sporttrap and 250 at English sporting. ABT...

    Insurance for shooting in Jersey

Later in the year I'll be competing at the Island Games in Jersey. My CPSA membership will cover me for public liability but has anyone any advice about additional insurance please? I will be taking 2 shotguns which will be kept in a secure armoury, travelling by ferry and the guns are worth...

    RC v Fiocchi

Hi Tim, using an old Miroku 3800 choked full and extra full so as DTL slower and therefore closer when shot at 8 gives me (mentally anyway) a little better pattern than 7.5.

    RC v Fiocchi

I've shot both RC2 24g 8's and Fblu 24g 7.5s side by side for a couple of years through my Miroku 3800 choke full and x full. I don't find much difference recoil wise and I have a very slim pad on the gun. price wise they are within £10 per 1000. For DTL I find the RC2 8's are great mentally to...

I needed it for Eire last year for the British DTL but also needed their permit.

What is your Clay Shooting highlight of 2013?

Had an excellent 2013! Started with DTL County Championship for the second year running, then EO Ladies Double Rise on my birthday, followed by BO Ladies Double Rise the next day! Making the England Ladies DTL team for the first time in June and winning the team competitions at the Home...

    SCTA DTL This Weekend

If it's anything like down here it's nice to shoot on a full squad sometimes over what the targets are like. You can get used to the quicker tempo of part squads and it takes a bit of getting used to a full squad again. My timing is good whatever squad size but my in between routine needs...

Ha ha fame at last! 1.31 in the red cap trying to look like I know what I'm doing waving my hand around! Really enjoyable day though!

How good is a Miroku ?

I use the same Miroku 3800 I started with over 25 years ago. Just shot my PB at DTL 100/298 in Ireland at the British Open to win the Ladies title, 1st in A Class and shoot off for 3rd overall and high gun of England. The Ladies squad used 3 Kreighoffs and 2 Miroku. Not looking at changing it...

    CPSA Dress Code

Thank you 40UP! I see the problem with the outdated handbook! I have to say I hadn't looked it up on line as I have the handbook in front of me. There could have been many more non compliance issues then!

    CPSA Dress Code

Think the mankini would come under: Nakedness of the trunk or limbs other than the lower arms or lower legs Can't see a problem with the DM's! :girlcrazy: I realise this is a kind of tongue in cheek discussion but like motorcycling you can only control so much. For example I would never...

    CPSA Dress Code

Just checked the England Team Handbook and Flip flops are not prohibited footwear as such: Any excessively worn, dirty or untidy clothing or footwear. This is the only mention of footwear. Personally I wouldn't want hot barrels anywhere near my naked feet.

Daily disposable contacts, anyone use them?

I am indeed! Thank you I'm well chuffed! Had 22 years off and only came back to shooting 18 months ago! :) Looking forward to Ireland next week but not the 2 ferries and nearly 400 miles of driving!

Daily disposable contacts, anyone use them?

Hi Martin, http://www.daysoftcontactlenses.com/ You still need a current prescription and most opticians slag them off as they don't want you to buy them elsewhere but I've been using them for about 8 years and have never had a problem!

Daily disposable contacts, anyone use them?

Hi there! I've been wear contact lenses for around 24 years. The last 12 or so have been daily disposables. I only came back to shooting around 18 months ago after 22 years off but I wouldn't even consider using prescription glasses for shooting unless I couldn't wear the lenses due to...

    English & British Open All Round - NDGC 15th & 16th June

Sorry Julesy! Can't make this one as there is some sort of music festival thingy going on down the road and the price of a ferry off the island is 4 times the normal (high) price! I'll have to make do with kayaking round Cowes harbour and annoying the yachties! :blind:

Thank you all! It was a fantastic weekend and it couldn't have happened without Julesy and the crew! It was my birthday on Saturday too and I got to chat to John Grice and Dick Fletton! I'm not worthy! :girlcrazy: Matt shot like a superman! By the time he went out you could hardly stand up.

Constabulary-by-Constabulary: how long did it take you to get your ticket?

Hampshire took 5 months for my new application after i stupidly let it lapse a few years ago! FEO said that as I was an experienced shot keen to get back into the sport i should receive the paperwork within a week. it took another 4 weeks! That was in 2011. I applied for my European Firearms...
