    Higher visibility front beads ?

I used a long clay shooting variety 3mm one in green though can get in red or orange at the time. Worked a treat for me as it had a tube in front so wasn’t visible to other eye.

    To Choke Or Not ?

Choke was always a measurement taken as tighter than the actual bore of the gun. Measured in thousands of an inch or roughly .25 of a millimeter per quarter choke. So every ten though is an extra 1/4 choke five thou the in between chokes Skeet 3/8” so on. Bit annoying when in today’s world...

    Tighter choke for newbies?

Unless you pattern your chokes with your chosen cartridges, whatever is written on them is just numbers or letters. Most of the latest chokes I see are listed 35 thou full, 40 thou Extra Full. Old standard was every ten though of an inch tighter than the bore was a quarter of a choke. The new 35...

    Choke Grease

I use either ceramic paste grease or Schmierfix grease, whichever I pick up first. Never had a problem with these even leaving chokes in for thousands of rounds. Only get cleaned if gun got soaked or I can feel any grittiness when checking them. I do wipe a thin coating on the inside of the...

The Caesar Guerini ascent guns are 50/50 above and below the bead so no built in lead for rising targets, just a more comfortable head up position for some.

Gun value on steel shot issue

I wouldn’t worry about it, in Scandinavia they have steel loads far faster than we’re allowed even made by gamebore for example and they still use non proofed guns from many years ago. I think there will be a dip then when it’s a non event like y2k was prices will get back to normal. I have a...

    browning laminate sl

When all the walnut is gone Laminate stocks will be the norm. Winchester Select had the exact same Laminate stock and I don't see many around. Not my thing on a shotgun, if not walnut I prefer synthetic. Was told they can be difficult to repair without it being visible. Each to their own...
