As Wyn says they aren't banned, but IIRC guns set up for release trigger should have visible letter "R" on the stock to inform others, particularly the ref, as extra care is needed when such a gun has to be unloaded due to say a no bird, if the trigger has been pulled but not released.

I stand by my earlier post. A good instructor - and Bebo made a great suggestion in Cheryl Hall - will quickly identify what's needed and how to proceed. A couple of hundred spent up front now could save you thousands down the road.

I don't agree with seeing a gun fitter as the first move. I strongly advise seeing a shooting instructor first. Probably the best place in your neck of the woods would be E J Churchill (near High Wycombe). They can do the lot for you and in the right order - which is important!

Personally I didn't find the XS Titanium barrel heavy - and it was a 32" model. I like a slight forward bias to the weight so that a gun balances between my hands but that's not what I mean by barrel heavy. Now, the old 425 based mark 1 XS was seriously barrel heavy, pity they didn't use the 325...

There are at least 3 iterations of the Ultra starting more than 20 years ago. The first was a souped up 425 and therefore very nose heavy, just at the time Beretta was introducing sporters like the Gold E and DT-10 with light barrels. Eventually Browning worked it out and changed it to a souped...

I've seen hundreds people who can smash a fast moving 4" clay at 45 yards but can't get their empties in a 3ft round bin placed right in front of them. ;)

Originally the both the 60 and 70 were produced in 2 versions, sporter and game and allegedly only available with 28 or 30" barrels. More recently the 60 became "universal". AFAIK they all had the same fixed choke barrels, most being quarter/half choking. I had an original for 4 years...

The tensioner on my SV10 held the forend metal tight to the action but the forend wood was screwed to the metal part. If the screws loosened as they tend to on the 6xx family guns, the wood rattled against the metal. The 692 used the same tensioning system and the 694 forend is presumably also...
