    Leaf or Coil springs

I had perazzi with detachable triggers and leaf springs, I don't know if l imagined it but those were the best trigger pulls l have ever had before or after!

    Do beretta pattern tightly

l had a Browning 725 with extended chokes the half choke that came with the gun was fine, so in order to shoot half and half l ordered another from a reputable gun dealer and this one was definitely a tad tighted than the first, and worked fine in the top barrel so no complaints!

Which felt/fibre wad cartridge for optima and other backbored guns?

I have used both fibre and plastic and l believe there is no discernable difference in the pattern, if you are on them they will break! If you are really bothered choke up a bit using fibres to set your mind at rest

A funny thing happened at the Ground yesterday !

I've nothing against auto's if used with a flag, having shot an auto myself l am always aware when they are on the stand. On two occasions l have watched people come off the stand with a loaded gun, the first time the guy was quite indignant chatting in a group of friends when l pointed out he...

    To Choke Or Not ?

That's 3/4 and Full, a bit tight for sporting, but if you are shooting well l would leave it for a while and try it on a pattern plate before making a decision.

    Tighter choke for newbies?

The late A. J. Smoker Smith was reputed to use full and full hence the nick name "smoker." He was world champion also European champion several times, so it worked for him! But unfortunately no longer with.

    Time for a treat

Miroku are a solid made gun, a real work horse similar to Brownings. You don’t need to spend thousands of pounds to shoot well, it just makes you look better when you miss!

    Time for a treat

Bit too old in the tooth to change now, just stick with it now!

    Time for a treat

Having shot for over 50+ years and owned most of the big names and ending up with Browning, but the one gun l look back with great fondness was my Preazzi MX3 C with 27.5" barrels. Don't know why but l enjoyed shooting that gun so much and regret trading it in some 30 odd years ago!

    Choke Grease

Spot on! do the same with my chokes but not every time l shoot about once a month and never had a problem in over 20 years.

What’s up with the high rib?

Yes l agree, always used a pattern plate just for peace of mind to know where the shot is landing if nothing else!

    Wanted 725 S3 30INCH

Yes l thought l had a faulty 725 mk2 when it started double discharging. Then l realised there was a very short hardly discernable gap between shots, so it was me pulling the trigger on recoil! (But did get a really tight pattern!) So l think the mechanical triggers aren't for everyone.

What’s up with the high rib?

As l understand it the high rib was designed to enable "built in lead" on going away rising targets as in DTL, ball trap, OT etc. For sporting you would need to shoot below level or dropping targets, or use a gun that shoots to "point of aim" and adjust to suit, so it really is a matter of choice.

    LH Eye Dominance

Yes probably collectable now days, Boss was a well respected make too.

    LH Eye Dominance

As a matter of interest l have seen a "Crosseyed" stock on an old side by side once, an extreem solution to left eye dominence!
