I’ve heard it said that UT is ‘fair’ Ball Trap. Very popular in Continental Europe. More accessible than OT (with the exception of Italy). 

The ‘White Flyer’ Trap made it possible and as most were using it for DTL it was possible to offer the Ball trap alternative. Of course the ‘game’ of Ball trap has been changed and went from an Arc shooting line like DTL to a straight line like OT and then to facilitate OT layouts the distances...

Maybe ‘almost rifle shooting’ the target might work at DTL it wouldn’t get you far at Ball Trap and would probably guarantee you’d only try Olympic Trap once.

One big advantage of a Perazzi is the easy change of the Stock from a trap gun to a sporting gun thus eliminating the need to buy another gun. Add on Teague chokes and the Perazzi becomes the best all-rounder out there. In my opinion of course.

Slapping the trigger is an American expression which describes the difference between the two methods. Its not made up by me and try Googling the expression for a bit of Shotgun education that might help with knowledge as well as contributing to humility.

have been experimenting with both. I'm finding that squeezing starts with the finger resting on the trigger whereas slapping starts with the finger just off the trigger. Coming down in favour of the slap. Find its a better method when timing the shot. Interested in hearing different viewpoints...
