I wear varifocals daily too, I got a pair of Wiley X Sabre Advanced. They have interchangeable lenses & a clip in prescription lens. The have a reasonable choice of coloured lenses at a reasonable price. I only have a single, distance prescription in mine & really like them.
Ah the good old days eh? 😖 if you’re looking for maximum attenuation I’d have a look at custom fit solid earplugs, so no filter at all. CFG do these,

Moulded plugs at concerts is a genius idea, I went to see The Who recently, they might be pushing 80 but my ears were still ringing the next day 😳
