    Total Noob 1st Gun

Started out a few years ago and certainly did not have 7 or 8K to spend on my first gun, so went out and bought me a s/h Miroku 28" sporter, I'm only 5' 6" so the short barrels suit me well. Its in really good condition, multi choke and breaks clays and brings a smile to my face every time I...

Shotgun certificate renewal ( photos )

Finally got my sticky little mitts on my renewal, thank goodness. Seriously, what an experience and lets hope others do not have the same problems. Time to book a refresher and as early retirement looms, get out and enjoy myself.

    budget starter gun

I bought a secondhand Miroku O/U 7000 sporter in a 28" barrel with interchangeable chokes, paid £750 for it 4 years ago, I know its a bit over your desired budget, love it and it will be a keeper for me. There are bargains out there, you just need to find them.

Shotgun certificate renewal ( photos )

This process was started back on the 15th May, which I thought would be plenty of time. There is no criticism of the Police, this is squarely at the feet of the Doctors surgery who couldn't get the forms right. I told them that the first medial proforma would be rejected as they hadn't filled...

Shotgun certificate renewal ( photos )

My certificate runs out on Sunday at midnight and started to panic because I had not heard from the FAO. Last minute reprieve, the poor girl had C19 so could not carry out the necessary visit so my gun was going into lodging with a fellow shooter, however she tested negative yesterday and...

Shotgun certificate renewal ( photos )

Went back to the quack today to pick up my new proforma and decided to open it before taking it home, computer says no....... This has now gone beyond a lack of professional ability, but sits in the realms of totally incompetent. The first question on the proforma was not answered and I have...

Shotgun certificate renewal ( photos )

I am just going through this process now with my first renewal, OMG what a stressful experience and its not over yet. 5 times, no word of a lie, 5 times I have had to take my Doctor's proforma back to have it filled in correctly and still I am waiting. The Sussex & Surrey renewal team have...

Chalky hill is where I went for my lessons and have shot there a couple of times since.  They do a fantastic cuppa and burger after the shoot :)

As a newbie I certainly have limited expectations of my own ability, but still get out occasionally to have a shoot.  Since getting my cheapo starter gun and attending a couple of local fields, I am really enjoying my time with others doing something I really enjoy.  I often find that work gets...

    Bisley - Long Siberia

I had my first visit to Long Siberia (Pay & Shoot) and left with a huge smile across my face.  I havent shot since last September and only a couple of times before that, but I had an excellent partner and really enjoyed a great afternoon out.  Very surprised that I managed to hit 34/50 and...

    Miroku 7000

As I am fairly new to the sport and have no relative experience with other guns, I can only offer my own opinion on the Miroku 7000 multi-choke. Its a great little gun and I can honestly say I am so pleased with mine.  I bought mine from CH Weston, Brighton, secondhand at £700 as my first ever...

    Gun Mount pt.II

Great video and good to see that I appear, in theory at least, seem to be doing pretty much what the chap says.  My only question mark would be around what I perceive to be a comfortable gun fit and what others think about my gun fit.  The gun feels very comfortable and seems to mount fairly...

    Gun fit while you wait

My gunfit was done in the shop that sold me the gun duh!!!  To be perfectly honest, I looked at different second hand guns that fell within my very limited budget and then tried them based on how they felt, how they fell into the shoulder and how my eye lined up with the rib and settled on my...

eley superb felt what else compares

Gamebore Evo Competition Load 24g 8 fibre = £56 a slab.  Not that I know enough about the different types but they work well through my Miroku 7000 and affordable.  Very easy on the shoulder.

How many guns do you have?

Just the one old "first shooter" clunker and I love it.  Yeah I know, give it time 😉
