    Winter Gun

Gazzer, the main thing I'd be concerned about if taking your gun out in the wet stuff is the wood work. Beretta's, especially new guns are notorious for having dry stocks through lack of oiling. Get some conditioning oil, CCL is good kit, and give the wood work a few good workings. Light...

    flood lit shooting

This sounds just the ticket. It's only 20 mins from the office as well.

POLL - Chokes & Shot size

Sporting; 3/8th - shotsize no8. Trap; 5/8th - shotsize no7.5. Those combo's drop enough clays for me to be happy.

    Beretta 682 Gold E Trap

Just had a better look at my barrels. The side rib carries on all the way to the end of the chamber. So I'm guessing it could be a weight distribution thing.

    Beretta 682 Gold E Trap

Cheers for the update Paul. There's another sprung up on Guntrader. Exactly the same spec as mine; trap gun with 32" barrels, both barrels multi-choked. And solid joining ribs! I need to give my stock another dose of conditioning oil later so I'll check where the rib ends near the chamber, in...

    Beretta 682 Gold E Trap

No worries mate. Can only think that if the barrels were ordered with solid side ribs, then it was to add some weight up front. Think Hamster mentioned this earlier too. Not a fan of Krieghoffs then Ips haha.

    Beretta 682 Gold E Trap

Ips, already have done mate. They've no idea either why the ribs are solid. The guy I spoke to said they may of been been ordered that way. The barrels were either ordered like that, or they're from a 687, which I have my doubts about. The only 2 '600' series that share barrels with replaceable...

    Beretta 682 Gold E Trap

Did GMK import any 687 trap variants in to the UK? Could the barrel be from a 687? Then again, if they were, they'd be ventilated. It's not a 686 as it's Optima bored and choked. The barrel selector was indeed fitted at a later date according to the RFD.

Les, pics as promised. A poor attempt from an iphone, apologies. http://www.shootclayforum.com/uploads/monthly_09_2014/post-1995-0-01599500-1410992754.jpghttp://www.shootclayforum.com/uploads/monthly_09_2014/post-1995-0-75162700-1410992776.jpg The comb is very parallel in comparison to a sporter.

    Beretta 682 Gold E Trap

I'll let you know when I eventually get to shoot it Ips haha. (Big carp fishing this weekend, or trying to, so no shooting this week) But if anyone has any more ideas, I'm all ears. Perhaps the previous owner had a selective trigger catch fitted? It's a sporter type shifter, so hasn't got a...

    poorly 692

That's what made me think of the wood swelling near the top lever mate. They certainly scrimp on finishing oil, and during damp/warm conditions, the wood seems to swell as your case or mark far too easily, leaving milky white spots. Be interesting to know what they did to sort your top lever...

    poorly 692

Iggy, did you notice the top lever sticking more when shooting in damp conditions?

    Beretta 682 Gold E Trap

.. Westley I've just bought it mate - but if it shoots as well as my previous 682, I'll be a happy chappy. That was a sporter with trap wood so I think I'll get on fine. I was just curious as to why it had a solid joining rib, compared to 98% of 682's I've seen which have ventilated.

    Beretta 682 Gold E Trap

.. It has indeed got trap stamped on the upper chamber Ips. GMK did say it was sold with O-C/F chokes. Which at a guess stand for Optima-Choke-Flush. Mine however came with extended Optima, so the previous owner must of bought these at a later date.
