I have recently purchased a Browning 725 Black with adjustable comb, while adjusting the comb height I noticed that the wood inside the adjustable comb (normally unseen) does not appear to be finished in any way. My question is can the comb be removed completely to allow access to this area so that I can finish/protect this area of the stock. Have checked in the owners manual and all it says is how to adjust the position of the comb and I didn't want to just pull it out until I know it is ok to do so.
