White Tape

I've seen a few international shooters with a whack load of white tape around the muzzle end of their guns.

Does anyone know why? What are the possible advantages and disadvantages?

Does it come with a beard or do I have to grow one?

I thought it might help with eye dominance issues by making a contrast between seeing down the rib and seeing the side of the barrels but I really don't know.

I'm looking for a solution to my centre vision without obscuring my left I too much......... I kinda need it for shooting OT.

Apparently it's so they have a sort of reference in their peripheral vision of where the ends of the barrels are. See a lot of ISU skeet shooters doing it but assume it maybe for the same reason in Trap.

I know what I mean but maybe someone else can express it better :wink:

I would caution you that it will make you VERY aware of the barrels and that may not be such a good thing

Thought they only liked to use "Red Tape" in clayshooting?
