Just took delivery of a new set of Oakley specs - with a G30 tint lens in. These will be a good complement for my existing 'welding goggle' tint that I use in bright light (i have sensitive eyes) and will give me something for a bit more contrast in lower light.

Given my 'specially needy' eyes, it was great to have Ed Lyons use my recent prescription and deliver a new set of specs in 5 working days.  Thanks again Ed!

Used these for the first time yesterday, and was very impressed with the clarity/contrast of the lenses.

I highly recommend anyone struggling with clays against trees or other difficult backgrounds to have a look at this G30 tint from Oakley.

Great to hear! It's a great lens for lower light conditions and enhancing contrast - the "Oakley True Digital" prescription lenses are hard to beat!

My first proper shooting glasses arrived this morning, Randolph Edge with deep vermillion lenses. Tore into the packaging, put them on, looked out the window and all I could say was FOOK!! and take an involuntary step backwards it was like getting a smack in the eyeball.

The colour saturation, contrast, clarity and detail are incredible. I'd always had better than 20:20 until about 10yrs ago, but I reckon Ed Lyons has taken my vision a fair way beyond anything I've experienced.

In future I may not always hit the clays but at least I'll get a crystal clear view of them as they fly off into the sunset to live happily ever after.

If the advance is THAT good, then be ready for a possible downturn in your shooting as everything looks different. Clarity can actually be distracting! In my case the magnification from prescription meant I could not judge lead pictures. It took me about 12 shoots to "get it" but then I took a marked step forward.

Thanks for that warning Will. I knew from the tests Ed did that everything apart from my aged lenses is in tip top order but wasn't prepared for the difference the right top quality lenses would make.

Finally got a chance to try out the new glasses today, heavy overcast with dark coniferous forest type backdrop. The contrast, clarity and amount of extra time I had especially on H2 & L6 took a lot of getting used to, scores not noticeably down but am going to have to revisit my hold and pick-up points, I was also able to take the clays much earlier.

Ed's 'DA MAN!!'
