It has to be asked!

Hamster prompted this thought in a thread where I think he said that if money was no object it would be a H & H or a Woodward.

Would you buy a game shoot or a shooting ground as well or just shoot on someone elses.

I have to say that I fancy owning sufficient land to have a shoot though at present I have no inclination to kill game.

I Think I would buy a MX8 a K80 a DT10 and a DT11 an ASE 90 a Zoli for starters and do some of my own comparisons.

If you're going to get the best then get the very best - a pair of Boss 12g Over and Unders.

I wouldn't buy a game shoot as I like to shoot different estates.

I would quite fancy a bit of land where I could set up a few traps.

Gun wise, I'd be straight on the phone to Ben H for his advive on a costom engraved K-80......then a heap of coaching to get the best out of it!!!

H&H, Woodward  made to spec with recoil reducers that would make people wince with agony until I tell them there's a spare standard stock in the cabinet for when I die. :D :D

Fabbri o/u for me! i'll try to get on the wating list saturday morning after the euromillions win friday.

Id go to H&H in Northwood and make them an offer they couldnt refuse for the guns and the ground

edit I liked Roundwood so Id buy that as well

I would like to look into the possibility of having a shooting ground with ALL disciplines. At least other people would benefit as well.

As for a gun, i would have to go and shoot a few before deciding, but maybe a perazzi for a change.

My old ones would be kept though, as no matter what i get i do not think i would shoot any better.

Miroku MK38 Grade 1, 2nd hand
HaHa----you old tight arse :D :.:

I would not decide until I have tried a few special guns, not to enable me to shoot a hell of a lot better but they may help and of course there is the pride of ownership side of things. I would be looking at the Perazzi and Krieghoff pro range and wait to be amazed.

Same as Mark, I would stick with the one I have

Think it would have to be visit to Perazzi to have a series of guns made to measure. Probably SC3's.

Due to the lack of any proper OT layouts anywhere in the Midlands I would also buy a plot of land (read estate) and set up a shooting ground with top of the range OT layouts ( plus Double trap, ABT and UT) so my lad can practice 3 hours a day in an effort to qualify for Rio! Would also be a ready made business for the lad to take over when he finishes school.

No proper OT in the midlands? Is Garlands no longer doing OT these days then? I shot OT up there many moons ago.

They do still have OT layouts but not sure I would call them 'Proper'? You have to phone ahead to get them o set it up!

garlands used to be a proper ground with regular comps, etc but it's now a shadow of its former self.

The are no other OT layouts that I am aware of actually on the Midlands (unless you know different?) which is a scandal for an Olympic sport. Nearest ones to me that shoot comps are Beverley, SW2000 and Mid Wales

Shame about Garlands, it was a good ground! Yep I guess you will need to travel a bit mate. The Olympic disciplines are not catered for too well in this country I'm afraid, sporting seems to be the main discipline in the UK and it has been going that way for decades now, but I have no idea why that is. Back in the 80's there was no OT in the London area, Bisely (before NCSC days) was only DTL and some ABT, A1 was only ABT, West London was sporting, DTL & ABT. That's how I ended up going to Garlands at first.
